It ok to wear shorts in the city?

im goin to nyc tonight to meet ppl.. first time meeting them..were goin out 4 dinner then idk what afterwards. were not going anywhere fancy.. is it ok to wear plaid shorts/nice polo/ my hat????? or should i stick with kahkis/polo/hat

well,i liked the shirt very much u can wear it but don%26#039;t think its worth to wear such kinda of shorts on meeting u better wear khakis all right?! just will be more suitable for the first meeting but anyway they r quite cool especially when going for trip or just picnic and when hanging out with friends or kinda like that :-)

Reply:if you are going for daytime, like lunch or something, or maybe baseball game, yeah, shorts and polo w/ hat is OK. but for dinner, I think that is too casual. I am over 30, so your outfit feels very young to me. like something to wear to like coney island or something, not NYC proper for dinner out.





also, to echo another poster, never, ever wear stripes with plaid. You would be better off with non-stripe polo with those shorts. And really jeans or chino pants would be far more appropriate. the hat is also not really appropriate for night time either. wear it if you want, you can always take it off, but then you will have hat hair.
